Senator Paul Sanford Pre-Filed Bills 

SB-17

This bill would propose an amendment to the Constitution of Alabama of 1901, to prohibit the imposition of an occupational tax in Madison County.

 

SB-28

Under existing law, a political action committee may make a contribution to another political action committee.

This bill would prohibit transfers between political action committees and provide legislative intent.

 

SB-30

This bill would provide that if the Education Fund or the General Fund, are placed in proration, the legislative expense paid to members and the presiding officers of the Legislature would be reduced by the percentage of proration declared.

 

This bill would provide that if the Education Fund or the General fund, are placed in proration, the appropriations made by the Legislature to the State Executive Commission on Community Service Grants would be reduced by the percentage of proration declared.

 

The bill would provide that the reduction would continue for the duration of the proration period that the reduction amount would be adjusted as the proration percentage is adjusted, and that these requirements would be implemented by the state Comptroller.

 

SB-80

This bill would relate to any Class 3 municipality and would provide that the commissioners of any municipal housing authority composed of five members would be appointed by the city council.

SB-81

Under existing law, the Constitution of Alabama of 1901 may be amended by the Legislature submitting a proposed constitutional amendment for ratification or rejection by the people which becomes effective upon ratification and proclamation.  Laws must be enacted by the Legislature and generally become effective upon enactment or at a later date provided by the statute.

 

This bill would propose an amendment to the Constitution of Alabama to provide that the people may also propose the enactment of general laws and constitutional amendments by an initiative measure subject to the same limitations imposed on the Legislature and that the Legislature may offer an alternate proposal.

This bill would propose an amendment to the Constitution of Alabama of 1901, to allow certain qualified taxpayers in Madison County to claim a senior discount on their ad valorem taxes.
